Are you ready to take your culinary career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join our vibrant Butlin's Buffets Department in Skegness! Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in running our bustling kitchen and leading a fantastic team of chefs. This is your chance to shine, especially when stepping up in the Kitchen Manager's absence.

Your passion for delivering exceptional experiences will be key as you monitor and develop action plans focused on continuous improvement. With your strong leadership skills, you’ll support and grow your team through daily briefings, manage stock control, and ensure our food presentation is top-notch.

Financial performance is vital in this role, and you’ll be responsible for delivering food cost budgets through effective menu planning and cooking to our high standards. You’ll also uphold food hygiene standards and health and safety regulations in line with legislation and company policies.

As a role model for Butlin’s unique way of working, you’ll ensure training schedules and performance development plans are in place for your team, inspiring them to create memorable experiences for our guests. Join us in our main buffet restaurant, where you’ll lead and develop a talented team serving guests who have booked a half-board dining package. Variety is the spice of life, and this role offers you the chance to make a real impact!

Key Responsibilities

We’re looking for individuals with experience in a similar role, especially in high-volume environments. Our buffet department can serve up to 3,000 guests per service, so being able to thrive in a fast-paced setting is essential. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and motivate a large team of chefs, ensuring they deliver our brand standards.
  • Manage stock control and food presentation.
  • Oversee financial performance, including managing margins and controlling costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Foster a fun and energetic atmosphere that enhances the guest experience.

You must have: a Level 3 Food Safety qualification and confidence in leading a team to maintain high standards in a busy kitchen environment. We value hard work, determination, and a proactive approach to finding better ways for the team to excel.

This role covers a 5-day working week over 7 days, totaling 40 hours. Shift times are from 6 AM to 12 PM. Please note that this position does not come with onsite accommodation.

Working Conditions

We are looking for team members who can add that extra sparkle to our guests' holidays by keeping our resort clean, tidy, and pristine. If you’re ready to go the extra mile for our team and guests, we’d love to welcome you!

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Can clean our main venues and toilets, using electrical and mechanical cleaning equipment (full training provided).
  • Are comfortable handling cleaning chemicals (full training provided).
  • Can assist with external road cleaning, including emptying waste and recycling bins.
  • Are willing to move furniture for various activities within venues.
  • Can clean and disinfect toilets and changing rooms.

Normal working hours:
Evening shifts from 5 PM to 2 AM. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be over 18. Start and finish times may vary depending on the type of break.
