Location & Hours

Location: Optimum House, Clippers Quay, Salford, M50 3XP - Remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Some flexibility on hours is available; just let us know when you speak to us.

Your Responsibilities

As a Highways Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of our Design team, delivering high-quality highway schemes and innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. You’ll work on exciting schemes including:

  • The National Highways SDF Framework
  • Legacy Concrete Roads Reconstruction Framework
  • Major projects like the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine and A417 missing link

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing technical design drawings, specifications, and reports in line with DMRB and relevant standards.
  • Taking ownership of highway studies and smaller schemes with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborating closely with senior team members on major projects.
  • Conducting site visits and liaising with clients, statutory bodies, and stakeholders.
  • Using AutoCAD to provide innovative engineering solutions while ensuring quality standards are met.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You hold a Civil Engineering degree or a similar combination of qualifications and experience.
  • You’re experienced in using AutoCAD and have a working knowledge of DMRB standards.
  • You’re working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer accreditation with a relevant professional body.
  • You have experience delivering a range of projects and can communicate technical information clearly.
  • You hold a valid driving license and CSCS card.
