Are you ready to make a difference in your community? We’re on the lookout for an Assistant Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic Traffic Engineering team in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. In this exciting role, you’ll play a vital part in designing and delivering improvement schemes that create safer, more efficient networks across North and West Northamptonshire.

Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire – office-based with agile working options available
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours can be discussed during the application process

Your Responsibilities
As an Assistant Traffic Engineer, you will contribute to the successful delivery of various traffic engineering schemes, including road safety improvements and active travel initiatives like walking and cycling routes. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Supporting the planning and delivery of traffic engineering schemes in line with specifications and budget.
- Producing detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Assisting with the preparation of Bills of Quantities and project documentation.
- Collaborating closely with engineers and designers to develop effective technical solutions.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you have:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, with some experience in traffic engineering or highway design.
- A solid understanding of traffic and highway design principles.
- Experience using AutoCAD, along with relevant software such as Keysign and Keyline.
- An awareness of Health & Safety requirements, including CDM 2015.
