Your Role
As part of our Eastern regional business, which boasts an impressive track record in delivering projects across various sectors including DfE, Healthcare, MOD, MOJ, Leisure, Higher Education, and Heritage, you will be the subject matter expert on your assigned projects. Your leadership will ensure excellence throughout the design process, and you may also support tender and pre-construction design management on pipeline projects.
Key Responsibilities
In your role as Design Manager, you will:
- Manage and deliver design information in line with agreed programmes and schedules.
- Ensure design consultants meet their obligations and adhere to project briefs and standards.
- Assess, mitigate, and manage design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Chair design meetings, write reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Produce design programmes, scopes, responsibility matrices, and schedules while ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and sustainable building standards.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Have demonstrable experience in a design role within a main contractor environment.
- Hold a relevant construction qualification (Degree/HND or equivalent) in Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering.
- Have experience with BIM Level 2 projects, including COBie data.
- Possess excellent attention to detail and strong stakeholder management skills.
- Hold a full driving licence.
