Location & Hours
Location: Colchester Primary Care Centre and Fryatt Hospital in Harwich
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available, just let us know when you speak to us.

Your Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for reactive maintenance, ensuring our healthcare facilities are safe and fully functional. Based at Colchester Primary Care Centre, you’ll collaborate with the contract team to deliver exceptional service standards across both locations. This is your chance to directly support the wellbeing of patients and staff!
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance, including emergency lighting testing, fire alarm activation testing, and generator testing.
- Respond to reactive electrical tasks, diagnosing faults and completing first-time fixes whenever possible.
- Accurately record all maintenance activities on our CAFM system using digital devices.
- Support subcontractors through induction, monitor their work quality, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Participate in on-call duties (1 week in 3) to ensure continuous building operations.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations (such as C&G 236) and possess Inspection and Testing certification (C&G, 18th Edition).
- Have a full driving license and are comfortable traveling between sites.
- Are adept at using digital systems and tablets to update work records and complete tasks.
