Are you ready to make a real difference in your community? We’re on the lookout for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic team in Birmingham, based at Thimble Mill Lane.

Job Details

Location: Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham, B7 5HR

Hours: Permanent full-time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 to £36,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be an essential part of the Birmingham highways team, focusing on:

  • Installing and upgrading streetlighting assets as part of a dedicated crew
  • Setting up and maintaining safe working sites on highways
  • Completing safety-critical emergency works and necessary documentation
  • Engaging professionally with the public when approached
  • Assisting with risk assessments and adhering to all safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

This position is perfect for you if:

  • You have knowledge of streetlighting works (HEA, NHSS8)
  • You thrive in collaborative teamwork and enjoy building relationships
  • You’re committed to safety and care about the communities we serve
  • You hold a HGV Class 2 licence
