Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you’ll be an essential part of our Operative team, helping to deliver top-notch highway services across the Somerset network. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:

  • Responding promptly to highway defects to ensure public safety and minimal disruption.
  • Installing and removing emergency traffic management signage as needed.
  • Using tablet devices to maintain accurate records of work and communicate updates.
  • Providing excellent customer care through polite and helpful interactions.
  • Supporting winter maintenance and severe weather operations when required.
