Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Shropshire Term Service Contract team in Shrewsbury. Key Details

  • Location: Shrewsbury with agile working
  • Hours: 37.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available
  • Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per year + excellent benefits
  • Note: We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.

Your Responsibilities

As our Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Shropshire commercial team with a variety of projects, from capital maintenance schemes to emergency response activities. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Assisting with pricing capital maintenance schemes, including surfacing, drainage, and structural repairs
  • Supporting cost management for winter maintenance, emergency response, and street scene activities
  • Assessing valuations, calculating payments, and monitoring subcontractor performance
  • Contributing to monthly Cost Value Reports and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborating with the commercial team on various duties as required

What We’re Looking For

This role could be a perfect fit for you if you:

  • Have experience in construction, ideally in a commercial or quantity surveying environment
  • Are confident using Microsoft Excel and comfortable with digital tools
  • Possess strong numerical skills and a keen eye for detail, taking pride in producing accurate work
  • Are currently studying towards, or open to studying for, a commercial or quantity surveying degree
  • Enjoy working as part of a team, with a positive approach to problem-solving and collaboration
