Join Our Team as a Reinstatement Operative!

Are you ready to make a difference? We’re on the lookout for a dedicated Reinstatement Operative to join our dynamic South West Water team in Roundswell, Barnstaple.

Location: Roundswell, Barnstaple
Hours: 45 hours per week

Your Role

As a Reinstatement Operative, you’ll be an essential part of our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team, supporting the South West Water contract. Your work will involve reinstating highways and surfaces after excavation for water mains repairs, new connections, and other vital utilities projects. You’ll ensure that all work meets safety and quality standards, contributing to essential infrastructure while developing your skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Carry out high-quality reinstatement works (tarmac, concrete, modular paving) following excavation.
• Ensure reinstatement meets HAUC and local authority specifications.
• Operate plant and machinery safely (e.g., rollers, compactors).
• Complete job documentation using tablet-based systems.
• Maintain site safety and traffic management compliance.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

• You have previous experience in highway or utilities reinstatement (desired but not essential).
• You hold a full driving licence (essential).
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to delivering quality results.
• You have a CSCS card, EUSR Water Hygiene, or NRSWA certification (desirable - training can be provided).
• You enjoy collaborating with teams to meet deadlines.
