Are you ready to take your skills to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic HS2 team based in Rushden. This is your chance to be part of an exciting project that makes a real difference!

Location & Hours

Location: Rushden, with opportunities to work on HS2 sites from Wendover, Buckinghamshire to Southam, Warwickshire.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. We offer some flexibility on hours, so just let us know what works for you!

Your Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you’ll play a vital role in our facilities team, ensuring that our buildings are safe, compliant, and operational. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Carrying out general building fabric maintenance, including carpentry and handyman tasks.
  • Completing weekly and monthly Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks such as fire alarm testing and legionnaires checks.
  • Responding to reactive maintenance requests with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Conducting routine inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have proven experience in building maintenance, especially in plumbing and fabric maintenance.
  • You hold valid Water Regulations (WRAS) and legionnaires certification.
  • You possess strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • You have a full driving licence and are comfortable traveling between sites.
  • You can work independently and are adept at using mobile job tracking software.
