Are you ready to take your architectural career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Architect to join our dynamic Architectural team based in Liverpool. Salary

Starting from: £40,000 per annum

About the Role

This is a key leadership position within Kier Design’s growing Architecture team. You will:

  • Lead the delivery of complex projects from concept to completion.
  • Ensure high-quality design and commercial performance.
  • Drive design excellence while complying with all regulatory and technical requirements.
  • Support business growth through client engagement and promoting the Architecture discipline.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced Architect ready to step into a leadership role.
  • Confident in leading design teams and delivering projects across all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work.
  • Commercially aware, with strong financial, technical, and time management skills.
  • Passionate about mentoring and developing others in a high-performing team.
  • Comfortable representing Architecture at a national level and driving design strategy.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Architect, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of complex architectural projects across all RIBA stages.
  • Own commercial performance, including budget, programme, and resourcing.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and manage team resources in line with project workload forecasts.
  • Oversee concept and detailed design production, including presentations.
  • Administer contracts (JCT/NEC) and support delivery through to site.
  • Drive bids, feasibility studies, and planning applications to win work.
  • Support, mentor, and lead architects across the team.
  • Build client relationships, generate new opportunities, and promote Kier Design.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you have:

  • Excellent architectural design capability with strong technical detailing.
  • Proven experience leading and managing design teams.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations, procurement, and project delivery.
  • Experience in contract administration, site delivery, and project management.
  • Advanced BIM capability using Revit / Autodesk.
  • Demonstrable experience across all stages of the RIBA Plan of Work.
