Salary
Starting from: £38,000 per annum
About the Role
As a Bridge Engineer within our Structures Team at Kier Design, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a variety of high-profile infrastructure projects. Your work will contribute to:
- National Highways Major Projects
- National Highways SDF
- TfL frameworks
- Northamptonshire schemes
- South Wales Trunk Road Agency (SWTRA) contracts
You’ll be responsible for producing technical designs and documentation, supporting the Lead Engineer to ensure that our highways structures maintenance and new-build schemes meet client requirements, on time and within budget.
Are You the Right Fit?
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or HNC/HND equivalent)
- Working towards or achieved IEng / CEng (MICE, MIStructE or equivalent)
- Experienced in the inspection, assessment, or design of highways structures
- Familiar with Eurocodes and UK standards (DMRB, MCHW)
- A proactive team player with strong technical and analytical skills
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll support the delivery of structures schemes within the Kier Design team, including:
- Producing technical designs, calculations, drawings, and reports
- Supporting Lead Engineers on project delivery
- Assisting with maintenance and new-build structures schemes
- Ensuring designs meet client briefs, standards, and programme requirements
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Have a degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering
- Are working towards IEng or CEng status
- Have experience or knowledge of structures design (maintenance or new build)
- Understand DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations
- Have experience within an engineering consultancy environment
- Possess strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills
