With the flexibility of remote working and occasional office visits, this role offers the perfect blend of innovation and collaboration!
Location & Hours
Location: Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, and Penrith (remote working available with occasional travel to the office required).
Hours: 40 hours per week, with some flexibility on hours available—just let us know when you speak to us!
Salary
Starting from: £46,000 per annum
About You
Are you an experienced highways technology engineer with a passion for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)? Do you thrive in leading technology schemes from concept to preliminary design? If you’re confident in providing strategic advice and technical governance to clients, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer, you will:
- Lead highways technology schemes from concept to preliminary design, focusing on ITS solutions such as CCTV, VMS, MIDAS, and communications networks.
- Produce high-quality technical outputs, including designs, specifications, drawings, BoQs, reports, and risk registers.
- Provide expert advice and technical governance to clients and stakeholders on innovative and legacy systems.
- Support feasibility studies, options appraisals, and business case development.
- Mentor and manage junior team members, offering coaching and support.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You hold a degree in an engineering or science-related discipline and are Chartered or working towards chartership.
- You have strong experience in delivering ITS consultancy, design, or project management.
- You’re comfortable managing workloads, programmes, and stakeholder relationships.
- You possess knowledge of ITS, highways technology assets, IoT, telecoms, and IP systems.
- You have excellent communication skills and a practical, commercial mindset.
