Are you ready to make a difference in the world of transportation? We’re on the lookout for a Drainage Operative to join our dynamic Transportation team in Northamptonshire. This is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to be part of a team that supports the movement of people, goods, and equipment.

Location: Brixworth, Northampton

Hours: Permanent, full-time (45 hours per week, Monday to Friday - nights)

Salary: £38,937.60 per year

Your Role

As a Drainage Operative, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and operational highway drainage system. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Driving and operating a gully truck for scheduled and reactive drainage maintenance.
  • Cleaning and maintaining highway drainage systems, including gully pots, ACO channels, culverts, and interceptors.
  • Using high-pressure jetting equipment to clear blockages and ensure free-flowing drainage.
  • Recording completed works using handheld devices.
  • Supporting emergency response operations during adverse weather or flooding events.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have experience operating high-pressure jetting equipment or similar vehicles.
  • You’re comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • You can communicate effectively with your team and the public while following safety procedures.
  • You hold a UK Driving Licence and a Class 2 HGV licence.
