Are you ready to make a real difference in your community? We’re on the lookout for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic team in Birmingham, based at Thimble Mill Lane.

Location & Hours

Location: Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham, B7 5HR

Hours: Permanent full-time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 to £36,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Your Role

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you’ll be an integral part of our supportive highways team. Your skills will be valued, and your contributions will truly impact our communities. Here’s what you can expect:

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and upgrade streetlighting assets as part of a dedicated highways crew.
  • Set up and maintain safe working sites on highways.
  • Complete safety-critical emergency works and required documentation.
  • Engage professionally with members of the public when approached.
  • Assist with risk assessments and adhere to all safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have knowledge of streetlighting works (HEA, NHSS8).
  • You thrive in collaborative teamwork and enjoy building relationships.
  • You are committed to safety and care about the communities we serve.
  • You hold a HGV Class 2 licence.
