Are you ready to make a real difference in your community? We’re on the lookout for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our friendly Transportation team in Yeovil, Somerset. This is your chance to contribute to the safety and maintenance of Somerset's roads!

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will be an essential part of our Operative team, ensuring the efficient delivery of highway services across the Somerset network. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Responding promptly to highway defects to ensure public safety and minimal disruption.
  • Installing and removing emergency traffic management signage as needed.
  • Using tablet devices to maintain accurate records of works and communicate updates.
  • Providing excellent customer care through polite and helpful interactions.
  • Supporting winter maintenance and severe weather operations as required.
