Position Details
Location: Highways Depot, Bradfield Road, Wellingborough – some remote working available
Hours: Permanent Full-time, 37.5 hours per week – flexibility on hours is available, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £31,634 per year + excellent benefits

Your Responsibilities
As a Public Rights of Way Officer, you will ensure that local communities can safely access and enjoy the rights of way network, making a positive and visible impact every day.
- Conduct planned and reactive inspections across the rights of way network, identifying safety issues and raising work orders.
- Build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including parish councils, landowners, developers, and the public.
- Manage customer inquiries and update reports through the Highways Online Reporting Tool.
- Record and categorize defects within the Works Management System, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Support cyclical maintenance programs, including mowing and vegetation clearance.
What We're Looking For
This role could be a great fit for someone who:
- Has knowledge of or qualifications in a relevant field, with an understanding of rights of way legislation.
- Holds a full driving license and is comfortable traveling across the network.
- Brings experience in working on or managing public rights of way.
- Enjoys collaborating with various stakeholders and approaches challenges with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
- Is well-organized and able to manage their workload effectively.
