Are you ready to make a difference in your community? We’re on the lookout for a passionate Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Facilities Management team at Cambridgeshire County Council in Huntingdon.
Location
New Shire Hall, Emery Crescent, Enterprise Crescent, Huntingdon, PE28 4YE
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm (with a one-hour lunch break)

Your Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our buildings across various sites. This mobile position offers you the chance to embrace variety and challenge while contributing to the safety and functionality of our community spaces.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance tasks, including emergency lighting testing, fire alarm activation testing, and pump/compressor fault diagnosis.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests, diagnose electrical issues, and aim for first-time fixes.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances in compliance with NICEIC regulations.
- Accurately record all work on our CAFM system and collaborate with the Helpdesk for seamless service delivery.
- Support the induction and coordination of sub-contractors, ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You hold Level 3 qualifications in Electrical Installations (such as C&G 236), Inspection and Testing (C&G), and 18th Edition (C&G 2382).
- You possess a clean driving license and are comfortable working across multiple sites.
- You are committed to maintaining the highest health and safety standards while delivering exceptional customer service.
