About the Project
Kier Construction has been entrusted with delivering a groundbreaking project: a state-of-the-art custodial facility designed to house 2,000 inmates and staff. This £750 million initiative will replace the aging Barlinnie prison, focusing on rehabilitation and utilizing cutting-edge Modern Methods of Construction. Your Role
As a Senior Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of a major two-storey, steel frame structure valued at over £45 million. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and directing subcontractor partners to safely deliver work packages, including groundworks, drainage, structural frame erection, roofing, cladding, and interior fit-out.
- Ensuring quality is upheld to Kier standards through effective supervision of subcontractors and staff on site.
- Coordinating site logistics and the movement of plant and labor while maintaining safety.
- Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure safe working methods.
- Creating, logging, and filing site reports and paperwork accurately and promptly.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Have prior experience in a management role within a large construction environment with a main contractor.
- Possess a strong technical understanding of building construction and can provide practical solutions to challenges.
- Excel in communication and can collaborate effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Have a genuine focus on health and safety and the confidence to uphold protocols.
- Hold relevant construction qualifications (HND/Degree/SVQ or Technical Trade), SMSTS 5 Day Certification, CSCS Card, First Aid Certificate, and a Full driving license.
