Are you ready to make a difference in your community? We’re seeking a passionate Electrical Engineer to join our dedicated Facilities Management team at Cambridgeshire County Council, based in the vibrant town of Huntingdon.
Location & Hours
Location: New Shire Hall, Emery Crescent, Enterprise Crescent, Huntingdon, PE28 4YE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm (with a one-hour lunch break)

Your Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our buildings across various Cambridgeshire County Council sites. This mobile position offers you the chance to embrace variety and challenge while making a real impact in your community.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance tasks, including emergency lighting testing, fire alarm activation testing, and pump/compressor fault diagnosis.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests, diagnose electrical issues, and complete first-time fixes whenever possible.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with NICEIC regulations.
- Accurately record all work on our CAFM system and liaise with the Helpdesk for seamless service delivery.
- Support the induction and coordination of sub-contractors, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Hold Level 3 qualifications in Electrical Installations (such as C&G 236), Inspection and Testing (C&G), and 18th Edition (C&G 2382).
- Have a clean driving license and are comfortable working across multiple sites.
- Are committed to maintaining the highest health and safety standards while delivering exceptional customer service.
