As a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division, you’ll play a vital role in this exciting journey.

What We Offer

• Competitive Salary: Start with a base salary of £40,178, with the potential to earn up to £52,000 through bonuses and overtime.
• Flexible Hours: Enjoy a structured 40-hour work week, with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and 1 in 4 Saturdays.
• Guaranteed Overtime: After your first month, opt for extra shifts at £30 per hour to boost your earnings.

Our SMR division is a fast-growing part of the RAC, focused on delivering planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to our members. Here’s what makes this role unique:

• No emergency callouts or unpredictable shifts.
• Work through a scheduled list of jobs with the time and tools you need.
• Perform in-depth repairs and diagnostics, just like in a workshop.

Your Daily Experience

Your day begins with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and waiting for you. You’ll be responsible for:

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs that you’d typically complete in a workshop.
• Providing member advice and recommendations based on your inspections.
• Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards.

What You’ll Need

• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
