Are you ready to make a real impact in your community? We’re on the lookout for a Development Management Site Inspector to join our dynamic Highway Development Management team based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in shaping new developments across the region!

In this exciting position, you will be the trusted point of contact for developers and contractors throughout the construction of new streets that will be adopted by the local highway authority. About the Role

As part of our Asset & Professional Services team, you will support both North Northamptonshire Council and West Northamptonshire Council. This means you’ll gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects and have the chance to build strong relationships across multiple partners.

Location & Hours

  • Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire – Daily travel to construction sites and the office required, with occasional remote work possible.
  • Hours: Permanent Full-time, 37.5 hours per week – Some flexibility on hours available; just let us know your preferences!

Your Responsibilities

As a Development Management Site Inspector, you will be at the forefront of delivering essential infrastructure that supports new developments. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring developer and contractor works for compliance with approved documentation, specifications, planning requirements, legal agreements, and permits.
  • Identifying non-compliant work, agreeing on remedial actions, and ensuring successful completion.
  • Ensuring operational and public safety, including traffic management compliance.
  • Liaising with developers, designers, contractors, and technical teams to identify and agree on design changes.
  • Maintaining accurate project databases and records, including inspection reports, audits, and as-built records.

What We’re Looking For

This role could be a perfect fit for you if you have:

  • Relevant experience in civil engineering, supported by an HNC/HND level qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience supervising highway works on site, with familiarity in Section 38 and Section 278 processes.
  • A solid understanding of Safety at Street Works and Road Works (code of practice) and CDM roles.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize workloads effectively.
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills to build positive and collaborative working relationships.
