Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We’re on the lookout for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Shropshire Term Service Contract team in Shrewsbury. This is an incredible opportunity to grow your skills while working alongside seasoned commercial professionals, gaining hands-on experience in a live, operational environment.
Location & Working Hours
Location: Shrewsbury with agile working options
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available, just let us know when you speak to us!
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per year + excellent benefits

Your Responsibilities
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in supporting our Shropshire commercial team. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Assisting with pricing capital maintenance schemes, including surfacing, drainage, and structural repairs.
- Supporting cost management for winter maintenance, emergency response, and street scene activities.
- Assessing valuations, calculating payments, and monitoring subcontractor performance.
- Contributing to monthly Cost Value Reports and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborating with the commercial team on various duties as required.
What We’re Looking For
This role could be a perfect fit for you if you:
- Have experience in construction, ideally in a commercial or quantity surveying environment.
- Are confident using Microsoft Excel and comfortable with digital tools.
- Possess strong numerical skills and a keen eye for detail, taking pride in producing accurate work.
- Are currently studying towards, or open to studying for, a commercial or quantity surveying degree.
- Enjoy working as part of a team, with a positive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
