Salary

Starting from: £32,000 per annum

About the Role

As an Assistant Bridge Engineer at Kier Design, you will play a crucial role in delivering highways structures projects for esteemed clients like National Highways Major Projects, SDF, TfL, and the South Wales Trunk Road Agency. This is your chance to:

  • Support Lead Engineers in executing maintenance and new-build schemes.
  • Produce technical designs and documentation that meet client requirements on time and within budget.

Are You the Right Fit?

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified: Hold a degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • Progressing: Working towards Incorporated or Chartered status.
  • Experienced: Knowledgeable in highways structures design and familiar with DMRB/MCHW standards.
  • A Team Player: Enjoy collaboration and problem-solving.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Assist the Lead Engineer in delivering highways structures schemes.
  • Conduct investigations, inspections, data analysis, and design development.
  • Produce technical designs, drawings, and documentation.
  • Undertake site visits and apply relevant standards (DMRB/MCHW).
  • Collaborate to meet project and utilization targets.
  • Promote SHEQ, CDM, and Health & Safety compliance across all activities.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Have a degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • Are working towards IEng or CEng status.
  • Have experience or knowledge of structures design (maintenance or new build).
  • Understand DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations.
  • Possess strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
