Salary

Starting from: £38,000 per annum

About the Role

As a Bridge Engineer within our Kier Design team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a variety of high-profile infrastructure projects. Your work will contribute to:

• National Highways Major Projects
• National Highways SDF
• TfL frameworks
• Northamptonshire schemes
• South Wales Trunk Road Agency (SWTRA) contracts

You’ll be responsible for producing technical designs and documentation, supporting the Lead Engineer to ensure that our highways structures maintenance and new-build schemes are delivered on time and within budget.

Are You the Right Fit?

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or HNC/HND equivalent)
• Is working towards or has achieved IEng / CEng (MICE, MIStructE or equivalent)
• Has experience in the inspection, assessment, or design of highways structures
• Is familiar with Eurocodes and UK standards (DMRB, MCHW)
• Is a proactive team player with strong technical and analytical skills

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Produce technical designs, calculations, drawings, and reports
• Support Lead Engineers in project delivery
• Assist with maintenance and new-build structures schemes
• Ensure designs meet client briefs, standards, and programme requirements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

• Have a degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering
• Are working towards IEng or CEng status
• Have experience or knowledge of structures design (maintenance or new build)
• Understand DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations
• Have experience within an engineering consultancy environment
• Possess strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills
