Salary
Starting from: £38,000 per annum
About the Role
As a Bridge Engineer within our Kier Design team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering a variety of high-profile infrastructure projects. Your work will contribute to:
- National Highways Major Projects
- National Highways SDF
- TfL frameworks
- Northamptonshire schemes
- South Wales Trunk Road Agency (SWTRA) contracts
You’ll be responsible for producing technical designs and documentation, supporting the Lead Engineer to ensure that our highways structures maintenance and new-build schemes are delivered on time and within budget.
Are You the Right Fit?
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or HNC/HND equivalent)
- Is working towards or has achieved IEng / CEng (MICE, MIStructE or equivalent)
- Has experience in the inspection, assessment, or design of highways structures
- Is familiar with Eurocodes and UK standards (DMRB, MCHW)
- Is a proactive team player with strong technical and analytical skills
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Produce technical designs, calculations, drawings, and reports
- Support Lead Engineers in project delivery
- Assist with maintenance and new-build structures schemes
- Ensure designs meet client briefs, standards, and programme requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Have a degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering
- Are working towards IEng or CEng status
- Have experience or knowledge of structures design (maintenance or new build)
- Understand DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations
- Have experience within an engineering consultancy environment
- Possess strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills
