Location: HMP Glasgow, Glasgow

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday

About the Project

Kier Construction has been appointed to deliver a groundbreaking project that will replace Glasgow's ageing Barlinnie prison with a state-of-the-art, rehabilitation-focused facility. This £750 million project will house 2,000 inmates and staff, utilizing cutting-edge Modern Methods of Construction. Join us in making a significant impact on the Scottish construction sector!

Your Role & Responsibilities

As a Site Manager, you will be an integral part of the project team, ensuring the safe and quality-focused delivery of this landmark construction project. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Directing subcontractor partners to safely deliver work packages, ensuring compliance with programme, design, and quality standards.
  • Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements to guarantee safe working methods.
  • Coordinating site logistics, including the movement of plant and labour, while maintaining safety at all times.
  • Managing the onsite supply chain and internal teams, promptly reporting any issues or programme slippages to the Project Manager.
  • Creating, logging, and filing site reports and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have prior experience in a site management capacity within a large construction environment.
  • You possess a strong technical understanding of full build construction, including frames, envelope, roofing, and internals.
  • You hold a relevant construction qualification (HND/Degree/SVQ or Technical Trade), SMSTS 5 Day Certification, CSCS Card, First Aid Certificate, and a Full driving licence.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can work collaboratively across the supply chain and with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You’re passionate about health and safety, confident in advocating for protocols and best practices, and are IT literate.
