Your Role: What to Expect
Your day will kick off with a clear digital schedule, featuring pre-booked jobs where members are expecting you. You’ll be responsible for:
- Routine servicing
- Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations based on inspections
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
With SMR, you’ll have the time, tools, and support to deliver quality work without the pressure of breakdowns. You’ll start with a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, and advanced diagnostics.

What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
