Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re excited to invite three talented Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our dynamic KierBAM team based in the stunning Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Location & Hours

Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard

Hours: 45 hours per week (some flexibility available—just let us know during our conversation!)

Eligibility Criteria

To ensure a secure working environment, candidates must:

  • Hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country
  • Have resided in the UK for the past 5 years

Please note that due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required, which can take up to 8 weeks.

About KierBAM

KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently engaged in an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. This is your chance to be part of a high-profile development that plays a crucial role in delivering vital infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be an integral part of the KierBAM team, focusing on:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports
  • Conducting cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts, subcontracts, and variations
  • Managing procurement processes and evaluating supplier bids
  • Monitoring project progress and forecasting final costs
  • Collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Mentoring junior team members

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering (professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB is preferred)
  • Have strong experience in quantity surveying within construction or infrastructure projects, ideally in the nuclear or defence sectors
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques
  • Are proficient in quantity surveying software
  • Have excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Meet the eligibility criteria for security clearance
