Location

Colchester Primary Care Centre and Fryatt Hospital in Harwich

Hours

40 hours per week - with some flexibility available. Just let us know your preferences when we chat!

Your Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be the backbone of our maintenance team, ensuring our healthcare facilities are safe, functional, and ready to serve patients and staff alike. Your expertise will directly support the wellbeing of everyone who walks through our doors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance, including emergency lighting testing, fire alarm activation testing, and generator testing.
  • Respond to reactive electrical tasks, diagnosing faults and completing first-time fixes whenever possible.
  • Accurately record all maintenance activities on our CAFM system using digital devices.
  • Support subcontractors through induction, monitor their work quality, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Participate in on-call duties (1 week in 3) to ensure continuous building operations.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You hold a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installations (such as C&G 236) and possess Inspection and Testing certification (C&G 18th Edition).
  • You have a full driving license and are comfortable traveling between sites.
  • You’re adept at using digital systems and tablets to update work records and complete tasks.
