Your Role in the SMR Division
In this role, you’ll experience:
- No emergency callouts or unpredictable shift patterns.
- A scheduled list of jobs, allowing you to focus on quality work.
- Working in your local area, covering Chesterfield, Mansfield, Alfreton, Bolsover, Clay Cross, and Dronfield.
What to Expect Daily
Your day begins with a clear digital schedule of pre-booked jobs. You’ll be responsible for:
- Routine servicing
- Advanced diagnostics using mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
From day one, you’ll have everything you need: a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, and advanced diagnostics. Use your technical skills to get people moving safely and confidently!

What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
