Location & Hours
Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (with some flexibility available)
Important Security Clearance
Due to the sensitive nature of our site, BPSS security clearance is required, which can take up to 8 weeks. To be eligible, candidates must:
- Hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country
- Have resided in the UK for the past 5 years
Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Engineering Surveyor (Assurance), you will be an integral part of our Engineering Survey team, ensuring the highest quality standards throughout the construction process. Your daily tasks will include:
- Conducting assurance surveys for reinforced concrete structures, including pre-pour and post-pour checks, and as-built surveys using laser scanning.
- Maintaining survey control networks and operating survey equipment with precision in a civils environment.
- Supporting engineers with setting out activities and preparing survey reports, drawings, and data outputs.
- Coordinating with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment between construction programs and survey operations.
- Managing quality control procedures in accordance with QC1 requirements, ensuring traceability and reporting standards are met.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Hold a degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or Construction.
- Have 3-5 years of experience in a similar surveying position on civil engineering projects.
- Are proficient with surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS, and laser scanners, as well as survey data processing software like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Leica Infinity, Cyclone, and 3DR.
- Possess a strong understanding of QC1 procedures and quality documentation, with excellent attention to detail.
- Hold a CSCS Card, relevant site safety qualifications, and are a member of CInstCES (or working towards full membership).
