Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a passionate Bridge Engineer to join our dynamic Structures & Geotechnical team in the vibrant city of Birmingham.

About the Role

As a Bridge Engineer at Kier Design, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a variety of high-profile infrastructure projects. Your work will contribute to:

  • National Highways Major Projects
  • National Highways SDF
  • Transport for London (TfL) frameworks
  • Northamptonshire schemes
  • South Wales Trunk Road Agency (SWTRA) contracts

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing technical designs, calculations, drawings, and reports
  • Supporting Lead Engineers in project delivery
  • Assisting with maintenance and new-build structures schemes
  • Ensuring designs meet client briefs, standards, and programme requirements
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

Are you the right fit? We’re seeking candidates who:

  • Hold a degree in Civil Engineering (or HNC/HND equivalent)
  • Are working towards or have achieved IEng / CEng (MICE, MIStructE or equivalent)
  • Have experience in the inspection, assessment, or design of highways structures
  • Are familiar with Eurocodes and UK standards (DMRB, MCHW)
  • Possess strong technical and analytical skills
  • Thrive in a collaborative team environment

Working Conditions

This position offers:

  • Location: Birmingham
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week (some flexibility available)
  • Salary: Starting from £38,000 per annum
