Are you ready to make a difference in your community? We’re on the lookout for a passionate Electrical Engineer to join our dedicated Facilities Management team at Cambridgeshire County Council, based in the vibrant town of Huntingdon.

Location

New Shire Hall, Emery Crescent, Enterprise Crescent, Huntingdon, PE28 4YE

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm with a one-hour lunch break.

Your Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our buildings across various Cambridgeshire County Council sites. This mobile position promises variety and challenges, allowing you to truly impact your community.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance tasks, including emergency lighting testing, fire alarm activation testing, and pump/compressor fault diagnosis.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests, diagnose electrical issues, and complete first-time fixes whenever possible.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances in accordance with NICEIC regulations.
  • Accurately record all work on our CAFM system and collaborate with the Helpdesk for seamless service delivery.
  • Support the induction and coordination of sub-contractors, ensuring all safety procedures are followed.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You hold Level 3 qualifications in Electrical Installations (such as C&G 236), Inspection and Testing (C&G), and 18th Edition (C&G 2382).
  • You possess a clean driving license and are comfortable working across multiple sites.
  • You are committed to maintaining the highest health and safety standards while delivering exceptional customer service.
