About the Role
As an Assistant Bridge Engineer at Kier Design, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across National Highways Major Projects, SDF, TfL, and the South Wales Trunk Road Agency. You’ll collaborate with Lead Engineers to deliver both maintenance and new-build schemes, ensuring that technical designs and documentation meet client requirements on time and within budget.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Engineer in delivering highways structures schemes.
- Assist with investigations, inspections, data analysis, and design development.
- Produce technical designs, drawings, and documentation.
- Conduct site visits and apply relevant standards (DMRB/MCHW).
- Work collaboratively to meet project and utilization targets.
- Promote SHEQ, CDM, and Health & Safety compliance across all activities.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Hold a degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering.
- Are working towards IEng or CEng status.
- Have experience or a keen interest in highways structures design.
- Are familiar with DMRB, MCHW, and CDM regulations.
- Possess strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.

Working Conditions
You'll be working 37.5 hours per week, with some flexibility on hours available. We offer a competitive starting salary of £32,000 per annum.
