Location & Hours

Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard

Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Please note: We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required, which can take up to 8 weeks. Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As our QA Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest quality standards across our operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining our Quality Assurance management system in line with company policies and industry standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Leading and supporting the QA team, including training, performance management, and resource planning.
  • Overseeing internal and external quality audits, ensuring compliance and timely corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with production, engineering, procurement, and other departments to embed quality processes.
  • Analysing quality data and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Hold a relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Quality, or Construction (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng).
  • Have proven experience as a QA Manager or in a similar role and are ISO 9001 Lead Auditor trained.
  • Possess strong knowledge of quality standards and methodologies including ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or Lean.
  • Have experience managing teams and driving quality improvement initiatives.
  • Exhibit excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
