Why This Role Matters

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of Financial Crime training? In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to build and establish a brand-new training framework from the ground up. Your work will be driven by regulatory findings from the Federal Reserve and FCA Skilled Persons reviews, focusing on empowering employees like Relationship Managers and KYC Analysts to understand their unique Financial Crime risks and how to effectively spot and escalate them.

Key Skills We’re Looking For

  • Financial Crime or Compliance Expertise: A deep understanding of the field to accurately identify risks such as fraud and train staff on upcoming regulations like the EU AML Authority and virtual asset regulations.
  • Tangible Training Experience: Proven ability in instructional design and creating engaging training content that goes beyond mere policy documentation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage potential pushback from line managers and Business Management teams, even at the Director level.
  • Good Governance Skillset: Experience in developing oversight of controls, including designing, testing, and ensuring they function effectively. Alternatively, solid experience in Financial Crime policy or writing audit and regulatory closure packs is acceptable.
  • Evaluation and Measurement: Familiarity with methodologies for assessing training effectiveness over time, such as tracking improvements in QA scores or training pass rates.
  • Desirable Certifications: Relevant Financial Crime certifications and formal instructional design training (like Cornerstone academy courses) are preferred but not strictly required.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a targeted, role-based mandatory training framework from scratch.
  • Conduct Training Needs Assessments/Analysis (TNA) and role mapping to identify specific training needs for employees.
  • Design and create comprehensive training materials, including presentation decks, e-learning courses, and interactive learning labs.
  • Develop specialized content that teaches employees how to practically identify, manage, and escalate financial crime risks in their daily functions.
  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of the training programs to ensure learning objectives are met.
