Join Our Team as an Escalator Technician in London!

Location: Greater London (including Gatwick & Stansted rail stations)

Hours: 19:00 – 7:00, 4 on 4 off (12-hour shifts with a 45-minute unpaid break)

Salary: Basic salary up to £75K (depending on skills and experience) + Overtime + Benefits and Paid Door to Door.

Your Role

As an Escalator Technician, you will:

  • Utilize your senior-level technical and product expertise to install, maintain, refurbish, and repair escalators and associated equipment.
  • Conduct detailed technical assessments and fault diagnoses, delivering effective and timely resolutions.
  • Produce clear process documentation and cost reporting to support operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with the Branch Manager and Field Service Managers to mentor and develop a high-performing team of Field Engineers.
  • Champion best practices, safety, and continuous improvement to exceed customer expectations.

Your work will cover all of Greater London, including high-profile locations like Gatwick and Stansted Airport stations. This role focuses on transport infrastructure, allowing you to work in safety-critical environments without extensive regional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform escalator maintenance, inspections, surveys, and technical fault resolution, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor site safety and performance of engineers and subcontractors, completing necessary risk assessments and documentation.
  • Manage technical queries, materials procurement, and client liaison to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Provide comprehensive reporting and support across the business, including progress updates and incident reports.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, including vehicle care and PPE use.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum NVQ level 4 qualification.
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and minor repair of electrical, mechanical, or electronic equipment in customer environments.
  • Experience with computer or PDA use is essential for logging calls and accessing customer and equipment information.
