Your Role

As a Senior / Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the fostering services across the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire areas. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Foster Parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.
  • Supervising and monitoring the suitability and competence of Foster Parents, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Providing regular supervision in line with FCA’s Operational Standards.
  • Collaborating with the child’s network to identify needs and provide necessary support.
  • Ensuring compliance with documentation and attending meetings to address individual care packages.
  • Promoting the participation of children and young people in agency development and community resources.
  • Delivering training to Foster Parents and participating in an out-of-hours support service.
  • Conducting initial home visits and Form F assessments as needed.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • Strong report writing skills and a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • A willingness to travel extensively across the Yorkshire area.
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
  • A full driving licence.

Working Conditions

This position offers a hybrid working model, allowing you to balance office time with the flexibility of working from home. You will primarily cover the Sheffield, Rotherham, and Barnsley areas, with occasional travel to our regional office in Sheffield.
