Your New Role
As a key member of our Broadcast Engineering team, you will support live productions for TNT Sports and Discovery/Eurosport, covering thrilling sports like football, cricket, rugby, and cycling.
This role involves providing tier 2 engineering support for studios, production, and post-production, ensuring seamless operations for our partners. You’ll collaborate closely with Tier 1 teams in Chiswick and Paris, and work alongside Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams to resolve issues and enhance our broadcast platforms.
Location: Stockley Park, London. This position requires a shift-based schedule, including weekends and occasional nights, with some work at other sites, particularly Chiswick Park.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of all engineering requirements alongside other teams.
- Collaborate with Production to guarantee the smooth running of live events.
- Manage ticketing from initiation to resolution, including repairs and maintenance.
- Participate in team projects and assist with large-scale work.
- Update shared technical documentation and maintain effective communication.
- Support Management and Lead Broadcast Engineers as needed.
- Engage positively and proactively with all stakeholders.
- Adhere to health & safety protocols and best practices.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the production engineering environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the broadcast chain.
- Outstanding troubleshooting skills and the ability to fault-find from first principles.
- Ability to remain calm and excel in high-pressure, time-critical environments.
- Extensive technical background in broadcast technologies (IP video 2110, UHD & HD video, Dolby Atmos audio, etc.).
- Good understanding of IT technologies and their challenges (networking, cloud services, security, etc.).
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a constantly evolving environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong team player with self-motivation and a customer service mindset.
- Appreciation for project management principles.
- Knowledge of health & safety best practices.
The above requirements are desirable but not essential. Candidates with a strong technical background, a drive to learn, and a positive attitude will be considered.
