The Role

Location: Leeds - Hybrid, 3 days a week

We are on the lookout for an Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic Group Property Development Team!

In this role, you will provide specialist technical support across all property development projects, focusing on both new and existing sites. You will also contribute to fostering a culture of best practices and continuous improvement within the Development team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct desktop appraisals to assess site suitability for gym conversions.
  • Perform initial feasibility studies and risk assessments.
  • Evaluate environmental impacts and identify legal issues.
  • Prepare technical drawings and information for feasibility studies and construction projects.
  • Compile drawings and information required for planning and statutory consents.
  • Analyze architectural plans, highlighting risks and making amendments using CAD.
  • Specify appropriate technology and tools for projects, advising on deviations from initial designs.
  • Create 3D visuals/models to help stakeholders understand schemes.
  • Assist the Senior Project Architect with technical drawings for design manuals.
  • Liaise with architects, surveyors, and other construction professionals.
  • Provide technical assistance to architects, design managers, and team members.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of gym formats and design standards.
  • Ensure personal development plans are in place.
  • Represent the Development function positively and act as an ambassador for PureGym.
  • Make significant contributions across the Development function.

Who You Are

  • Experienced as an Architectural Technologist.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and ideally Revit.
  • Strong understanding of Building Regulations.
  • Educated to degree level with a track record of professional development.
  • Experienced in contributing to multi-site property developments.
  • Familiar with large-scale organizations in customer-facing industries like leisure and retail.
  • Passionate about architecture, mathematics, drawing, and design with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Creative, imaginative, and visionary.
  • Proactive, accountable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator, able to convey complex messages simply and influence at senior levels.
  • Commercially astute, evaluating investment decisions with member brand expectations in mind.
  • Member-focused, always striving to enhance the experience for all.
  • Process-oriented, with a knack for identifying and eliminating waste through lean thinking.
  • Able to work cross-functionally to achieve the best outcomes for members and PureGym.
  • Passionate about fitness and leisure.
  • Willing to travel as required.
