Founded in 1987 by a dedicated group of foster parents, ISP is proud to be the UK's first independent foster care agency. With over 30 years of experience, we have built a strong foundation of support for looked-after children, ensuring they receive the specialized care they deserve. Our Integrated Services Programme surrounds children and foster parents with a network of professionals, including social workers, fostering advisors, teachers, and therapists, all committed to a therapeutic approach to fostering.

Your Role

As a Part-Time Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting foster parents and ensuring high standards of care. This position is both rewarding and challenging, offering you the chance to make a real impact in the fostering community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to foster parents, managing a realistic caseload for effective supervision.
  • Conduct regular supervision sessions, enabling foster parents to enhance their practice and comply with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to ensure full participation in safeguarding and child protection processes.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is enthusiastic and committed to the fostering journey. Your ability to work collaboratively with foster parents and other professionals is essential.

Requirements:

  • Recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in children and families social work.
  • Experience or a desire to work within a therapeutic model of childcare.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and publications related to children's services.
  • Full driving licence with unrestricted access to your own car.
  • Excellent report writing skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Working Conditions

This part-time role offers 28 hours per week over 4 days, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. You will be based in Chesham, covering areas including Aylesbury, Bracknell, Reading, and Woking.
