We are currently seeking a Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Soham, Cambridgeshire.

About the Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social development of the children in our care. Your commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment will help our young residents thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay awake and alert throughout the night shift to ensure the safety and wellbeing of each child.
• Provide empathy and reassurance to young people when they need support.
• Assist with personalized bedtime routines and engage in occasional activities.
• Accurately record information using our computer systems.
• Follow the Philomena protocol in the event of a missing child.
• Communicate effectively with out-of-hours services and handle calls professionally.
• Act as a positive role model and adhere to all Area Camden policies.
• Adapt to the changing needs of the children and contribute to the home's values.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking individuals who are:

• Team players with energy and enthusiasm for the role.
• Experienced in safeguarding children and committed to their welfare.
• Organized and capable of planning and preparing work effectively.
• Excellent communicators, both verbally and in writing.
• Engaging listeners who can take action when needed.
• Willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare if not already held.

Working Conditions

This is a permanent position with specific hours from 20:00 PM to 08:00 AM (12-hour shifts). You will work a rotational weekly rota, with a minimum of 48 hours per week and 168 hours per month.
