Located in Northwich, Elmy Hall School provides a safe and supportive environment for up to 100 pupils aged 5 to 16 with a range of complex needs. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils.
- Assist the classroom teacher during lessons.
- Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other staff to ensure needs are met.
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
- Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
- Set work where appropriate and mark assignments.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should:
- Have a strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Possess sound IT skills and previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant.
- Have experience working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
- Be confident in taking additional responsibilities in areas like food hygiene, forest school, lunchtimes, or school yoga.
- Be experienced in behavior management techniques.
- Be committed to professional development and eager to learn.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position, term time only, with a salary range of £21,257.48 - £23,232.69.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be covered by Polaris Community.
