Your day begins with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and waiting for you. You’ll be responsible for:
- Routine servicing
- Advanced diagnostics using cutting-edge mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Providing members with advice and recommendations based on your inspections
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
With SMR, you won’t be reacting to breakdowns; you’ll be delivering planned work that you can prepare for. From day one, you’ll have everything you need: a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, and advanced diagnostics.

What You’ll Need...
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
- Or: 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
