Your New Role
Join us as a Production Support Engineer where you will play a crucial role in supporting live productions for TNT Sports and Discovery/Eurosport. You’ll be involved in a variety of sports productions, including football, cricket, rugby, and cycling.
This position is part of our Broadcast Engineering team, providing tier 2 support for studios, production, and post-production. You’ll collaborate closely with Tier 1 teams in Chiswick and Paris, as well as Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams, to resolve issues and continuously improve our broadcast platforms.
This role is based in Stockley Park, London, and involves a shift-based pattern, including weekends and occasional nights. Some work at other sites, particularly Chiswick Park, may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of all engineering requirements alongside other engineering teams.
- Collaborate with Production to ensure the smooth running of live events.
- Manage ticketing processes from initiation to resolution, including repairs and maintenance.
- Participate in team projects and assist with large-scale work.
- Update shared technical documentation and maintain effective communication.
- Support Management and Lead Broadcast Engineers as needed.
- Engage positively and proactively with all stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of health & safety through relevant maintenance and safe operating practices.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the production engineering environment and broadcast chain.
- Outstanding troubleshooting skills and the ability to fault-find from first principles.
- Ability to remain calm and excel in high-pressure, time-critical broadcast production environments.
- Extensive technical background in broadcast technologies (IP video 2110, AES 67, UHD & HD video, HDR & SDR video, etc.).
- Good understanding of IT technologies and associated challenges (networking, virtualization, cloud services, etc.).
- Willingness to learn and adapt to technical changes in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong team player with self-motivation and a customer service mindset.
- Appreciation of project management principles.
- Working knowledge of health & safety best practices.
The above requirements are desirable but not essential. Candidates with a strong technical background, a drive to learn, and a positive attitude will be considered.
Working Conditions
This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days will be carried out at the workplace. WBD reserves the right to adjust this working agreement as necessary for business needs, with reasonable notice.
