What You'll Do

As a Tutor / Unqualified Teacher, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and academic success of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, and behaviour management.
• Collaborating with the education team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Promoting positive learning behaviours and leading classes during PPA and absence cover.
• Delivering enrichment activities and supporting lessons with academic or pastoral needs.
• Responding to immediate concerns and creating relevant lesson information.
• Advocating for the ethos of Herdley Bank School and leading interventions in reading and phonics.
• Building relationships with parents and leading ELSA sessions.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
• Experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA, Tutor, or Unqualified Teacher).
• Experience working with pupils with SEMH/autism in an educational setting.
• Skills in behaviour management and a commitment to professional development.
