Your Role

As a Qualified Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in creating a stable and nurturing environment that supports each young person's physical, emotional, and social development. Your responsibilities will include:

• Staying awake and alert throughout the shift to ensure the safety and wellbeing of each young person.
• Providing calm, compassionate support during the night, recognizing that this can be a challenging time for some children.
• Supporting individual bedtime routines and engaging in suitable nighttime activities.
• Keeping accurate computer-based records and following all safeguarding procedures.
• Communicating effectively with out-of-hours services and handling calls professionally.
• Acting as a positive role model for both colleagues and young people.

What We Offer

We believe in investing in our team! Here’s what you can expect:

• Comprehensive induction and mandatory training to support your development and progression.
• A fixed rota pattern:
  • Week 1: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun (60 hours)
  • Week 2: Wed, Thu (24 hours)
• A minimum average of 168 hours per month.
• 236 hours of annual leave per year, increasing by 12 hours annually for 3 years (up to 272 hours).
• Pension scheme (after qualifying period).
• Fully funded enrolment onto required qualifications if not already held.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Strong team player with energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
• Understanding of safeguarding and how to protect children.
• Able to follow delegated tasks and produce clear, detailed handovers.
• Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• Well-organized, with the ability to plan and prioritize work.
• Willingness to work towards the relevant qualification if not already held; a Children's Workforce Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable.

Working Conditions

This is a permanent position located in Greater London, covering Area Camden homes in Camden, Haringey, and Islington. Your specific hours will be from 20:00 PM to 8:00 AM (12-hour shifts).
