Your Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead our established 3-bed children’s home in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organization with a strong regulatory track record and a commitment to quality.
In this role, you will:
- Shape the culture of the home and support your team in making a meaningful difference to children who need consistency and care.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, compliance, and outcomes for children.
- Build a positive, reflective, and supportive culture for your staff team.
You won’t be alone in this journey! Our homes are supported by an experienced Responsible Individual and a knowledgeable Head of Care, ensuring you have the guidance and support you need to thrive in your role.
What We Offer
- £2,000 car allowance
- Occupancy bonus: £175 per child after the first child (e.g., a 3-bed home may attract two payments of £175, equating to £350 per month)
- Ofsted performance bonuses: £500 for a Good report and £1,000 for an Outstanding report
- On-call payments: £10 per day Monday to Friday and £50 per day on weekends
- 22 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays
- Non-contributory pension with a 9% employer contribution
- Company sick pay after successful completion of probation
- Enhanced sick pay of five days’ full sick pay
- Ongoing support, training, and development to help you lead the home effectively
About You
You are a values-led and resilient leader, dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children. You bring a positive, non-judgmental approach and a strong commitment to listening to children, understanding their wishes, and ensuring their voices influence the care they receive.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A thorough knowledge of Children’s Homes legislation, Ofsted inspection requirements, and safeguarding procedures
- A Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce, or equivalent
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or a willingness to complete this)
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a relevant role within the last five years
- At least one year’s experience supervising and managing staff in a care role
- A full manual driving license, access to your own car, and the ability to undertake on-call duties (averaging around two per month)
About the Role
As the Registered Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage a 3-bed children’s home, ensuring high-quality, individualized care and support for children.
- Be accountable for the safe, effective, and efficient running of the home, including leadership, administration, compliance, and operational responsibilities.
- Ensure care planning, reports, records, and monitoring systems are completed to a high standard and within required timescales.
- Motivate, support, and develop a committed staff team, promoting an open and enthusiastic culture.
- Ensure the home meets regulatory requirements, including Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted inspection standards.
- Represent Headway Adolescent Resources professionally with external agencies, families, and the local community.
