Your Role

As our SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our students. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Lead the strategic development of our SEN policy and provision.
• Design and implement interventions to bridge attainment gaps.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress in line with their EHCPs.
• Coordinate and prepare annual reviews.
• Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Engage in multi-agency meetings and lead on Early Help initiatives.
• Support individual learning plans in collaboration with teachers and parents.
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy.
• Maintain accurate records and support colleagues in effective teaching strategies.
• Work closely with external agencies to support pupil development.
• Analyze assessment data and lead intervention groups for pupils with SEN.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• The National Award for SEN Co-ordination, or a willingness to complete the NPQ for SENCOs.
• Experience in school self-evaluation and development planning.
• Teaching experience in an autism/SEMH school.
• Experience in delivering training and leading INSET.
• A solid understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
