Are you ready to make a significant impact on a major infrastructure project? We’re seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic East West Rail team in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Here, you’ll collaborate with an experienced team, managing the commercial aspects of the project while ensuring its successful delivery.

Location & Hours

Location: St Neots with travel between Bedford and Cambridge – hybrid working

Hours: Permanent Full-time, 45 hours per week - some flexibility available!

Your Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in delivering commercial excellence. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Assisting with contract valuations and ensuring timely, accurate applications for payment.
  • Leading sub-contractor management from enquiry to completion, including drafting orders and analyzing tenders.
  • Collaborating closely with the project manager on cost control and forecasting site expenditure.
  • Identifying contract changes and supporting the Commercial Manager with risk management.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to junior commercial staff.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Holds a Degree, HNC, or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying.
  • Has prior experience in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably with a Tier 1 main contractor.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and enjoys working with data.
  • Builds strong relationships and communicates confidently with diverse teams.
  • Is organized, manages time effectively, and can handle multiple priorities.
